For a lot of first time parents, there is nothing like having a baby in the home. The first six months of a baby’s life is an experience which cannot be adequately described. Any description and any feeling about the first six months of living with a new born baby in the same house, or in the same room will have to be taken with lots of context. The description will always be changing depending on who was talking, what was he or she talking about and when was the description given.
The first six months of a parent’s life with a new child is a dynamic description of feelings, emotions, heartache, hilarity, madness, surprise and wonder.
But always, always it will go back to the vision of a baby looking like an angel when she sleeps. Because sleep she does, up to 20 hours a day each and every day of sleeping. Feeding is done regardless of the sleep cycle. These times, any picture of the baby will always have a baby mattress in the background.
The cradle mattress will become an intrinsic part of the baby’s life. It will be there as a backdrop, witness and silent reminder of a baby’s simple needs. It is the picture frame of a baby’s first few months of life.
